Jacksonville Arboretum Fieldtrip

We went to the Jacksonville Arboretum for some outside fun! We walked on several nature trails – seeing the different elevations throughout the park. We had a scavenger hunt while on the trails - looking for different things in nature. We also looked at bones from different animals, classifying them into meat eaters and plant eaters. We learned how to walk like different animals – bounders, gallopers, diagonal walkers and pacers. We then got to identify different animal tracks that were made. What a great day to spend outside!

Archeology

The fourth graders started their new Archeology Unit by piecing together some clay pots. It was a lot harder than they thought.

3rd Grade Fieldtrip to St. Augustine

We started out on a rainy Wednesday, going to St. Augustine. What a pleasant surprise when we didn't get rained on. We went to the Potter's Wax Museum to look at famous people. We will start our biography reports soon. After that we walked to the Lightner Museum. There we got to look at the architecture of the building, see the exhibits, participate in a scavenger hunt and learn about the different styles of music boxes. How much did it cost to play the Nickelodean?
